Win Htein, chairman of the National League for Democracy (NLD), who was charged under Section 124 of the Penal Code, demanded an immediate verdict, but the judge ruled that the verdict would be granted only after the witnesses examined the evidence, said Phyu Win Latt, a spokesman for the Dakkhin District Court in Naypyidaw.
Win Htein was arraigned online today and is being held in Naypyidaw Prison, he said.
Win Htein filed a lawsuit under Section 124-A on February 4, pretending to be Aye Lu Kara, chairman of the Naypyidaw Ottara District Administration.
Phyu Win Latt said the next appointment was set for March 5 and that the power of attorney process would be carried out.
